Text and AI is seeing serious hype as well as serious capabilities at the end of 2022.
Although I agree with concerns raised for the dangers of AI for authorship and readership, I do not think there is a mechanism for humanity to even discuss how to pause its development–we can’t even agree on how to discuss taking care of our planet in a timely manner.
I therefore host specific dialog on AI and text, including a special Future of Text Monthly session on the 20th of April. We are working on a manifesto to clarify our perspectives. Please feel free to contact me if you’d like to attend, it will be on Zoom.
I have also integrated AI into my product Reader to augment reading, as distinct from augmenting authorship, which is a more complicated affair but it is being looked at.
