dialogue

We will host and record dialogue among a diverse group of people in order to better understand how interactive text systems can usefully develop, far beyond what any closed group or mentality could muster.

This dialogue, in the form of physical and virtual Meetings, blog posts and the ongoing Future of Text Symposium, is a core work product and will be made clearly and usefully available to the public our Journal (see Software Projects below).

First Year Weekly Plan : dialogue

  • Monday til Wednesday Meetings for one hour are open in order to encourage wide ranging discussions of issues including Socratic Authoring and gathering perspectives for our larger DOUG project. Themes may be set on the day or ahead of time and may become more structured over time, this is something early gatherings will be used to determine.
  • Thursdays will be spent on the next Future Text Symposium's planning and organizing when necessary, if not, it will be left open for other dialogue.
  • Fridays will be devoted to improving our own Journal Project.

First Year Monthly Plan : Presentations

  • Monthly events will feature a presentation lasting 30 mins with 30 min dialogue which will be recorded, posted online with human transcription.
